How often students talk about college in class
-
This indicator, based on data from the SurveyWorks questionnaire that is sent to students, measures how often students talked about college and career options in class. The left panel of the visualization presents data from every Central Falls school, as well as the district and state overall. The right panel allows you to look at data for specific grades and compare it to Central Falls and Rhode Island schools overall.

Discussing college and career options in the classroom helps students connect their education to future opportunities and provides them with information they may not otherwise receive. This is especially important for students of color and working-class students, who may face systemic barriers to accessing college and career guidance, professional networks, and information about what they can do after they finish high school. Being exposed to a wide range of careers and academic opportunities can help students envision possibilities for themselves, develop long-term goals, and understand how they can achieve them.
