Ways families prefer to get communications from the school
-
The Central Falls district and its schools send messages and updates to families about their child and the school in general through multiple means. This indicator tracks the ways that parents prefer to get information from the school, where they are most likely to see it or easiest to respond to. The data in this indicator comes from the SurveyWorks questionnaire that goes to students, educators, and families every year.

Family engagement in the school community is an important factor in increasing student engagement and a sense of belonging. Families who are able to interact with school communication easily are more likely to respond and interact with the school. Accessible communication also means that families will get updates on their student more reliably which will help them be able to intervene in a timely manner. This data clearly illustrates how communications can’t be a one-size-fits all. For example, when looking at statewide data on preferred communication methods, Email has a high level of preference amongst families but when looking at Central Falls data specifically, preference for email communications drops by almost half while phone calls go up by 24%.
